Although most people think of it as a winter-wear fabric, lightweight spring and summer clothes are also made with alpaca blends.

Yes, and although the lighter colors can be dyed, many yarns and products are made with the natural color fiber.

Plus, what I love most is that even after years of wear, an alpaca sweater knitted from natural-colored fiber looks brand new because it doesn't ever fade. Alpacas with more than one color of fleece, like a pinto, will produce a gorgeous tweed fiber that is prized among hand spinners and knitters.
