In fact, too much brushing can harm the fiber in the coat and may stress the alpaca, so keeping a barn or pasture free of excess seed pods or hay is the best method to keep your animals well-groomed.

A fiber brush and pick can help you remove any stray debris stuck in their fleece. It's important to pick debris out of their coat to avoid irritation to the alpaca's skin. And, healthy skin is important to producing quality fleece.
